The redevelopment 201 Darling Street Balmain is a small, bespoke, contemporary building that draws inspiration from its context while contributing to and improving the existing streetscape. The new additions look to articulate the existing building as a separate building, and in doing so, emphasis its role as a corner statement to the area. The new apartments to the west of the existing building present as a two-storey building, matching the height of the existing building parapet, with the third floor set back from the street. This creates a strong street wall along Darling Street and fills the gap in the streetscape created by the previously vacant car park
